The Most Reliable Marine Gangway Available

With a long history of building gangways, our patented brows and ramps are custom designed by our engineering staff to meet your application needs and built for durable and long-lasting performance in harsh marine conditions.

Built to Last

Constructed of durable marine-grade aluminum or galvanized or stainless steel, our vessel gangways are available in sizes up to 50’ in length and 5’ in width. Special-purpose gangways exceeding those measurements can also be built. Whatever your need, SafeRack’s MarinaStep personnel can engineer the perfect product for your unique needs.

With SafeRack’s marine access solutions by MarinaStep, you get your choice of power options to raise and lower your fixed gangways.

Choose from:

  • Manually with counter-balanced springs
  • Manually with a hand-winch
  • Electric winch
  • Pneumatic cylinders
  • Pneumatic winch
  • Pneumatic over hydraulics

Purposefully Built, Reliably Safe

MarinaStep offers three specific gangway styles to assure marine users safe access solutions to fit their different, unique sites and operating conditions: the Stage Gangway (SG Series), Truss Gangway (TG Series), and Self-adjusting Stairs (SAS Series).

Our advanced corrosion-resistant marine-grade aluminum vessel gangways are designed for OHSA compliant worker safety, durability and reliability in marine environments and are built to order to your required length and specifications. With a full engineering staff behind them, they’re built to last, too. Constructed of durable aluminum, galvanized, or stainless steel, our vessel gangways are available in many sizes, and special-purpose gangways exceeding standard measurements can be designed to your exact specifications.

Stage Gangway SG Series Marine Gangway

Our SG series aluminum gangways for barge and ship access use a rugged U-body construction to provide a live load capacity of 750 pounds and can be custom constructed to accommodate even higher load capacities. Depending on the operating angles needed, you can choose from several walk surface styles to improve footing when operating at steeper angles on your brow. Choose from a flat ramp (diamond tread or our stamped aggressive tread used on self-adjusting stair (SAS) series, add cleats to a flat ramp walk surface to allow up to a 30-degree incline or choose our custom extruded curved treads to allow up to 45 degrees of operation.

  • Standard brow lengths available up to 20 degrees
  • Standard widths up to 40″
  • Variable truss depth to accommodate your specific gangway length and capacity requirements

Truss Gangway TG Series Marine Gangway

The Truss Series uses a rugged U-body construction to provide a live load capacity of 750 pounds and can be constructed to accommodate even higher load capacities, allowing for up to 80 feet in length.

  • Standard lengths available up to 50′
  • Standard widths up to 5′
  • Variable truss depth to accommodate your specific gangway length and capacity requirements

Self-Adjusting Stairs (SAS) Marine Gangway

MarinaStep’s self-adjusting stairs are built to the highest quality and allow for operating in aggressive angles to provide safe access from ship to shore. This style is a perfect solution to reach both short and intermediate distances, providing a slip-resistance and level step for users along the entire length of the gangway.

  • Level steps, every step
  • Comfortable hand grips
  • Non-slip aggressive tread
  • Manual and powered lifting options

Available Gangway Tread Options

Extruded curved
gangway tread

This unique extrusion gives users optimal footing for aggressive angles. If your operating angles are 30 degrees or less, we suggest a flat ramp with cleats if necessary. Use of the curved tread is recommended for angles greater than 30 degrees.

Aggressive stamped
tread with cleats

Our aggressive stamped tread provides a walk surface that gives you grip so you’re not going to slip. Designed for industrial or heavy-duty commercial applications, this surface is perfect for operating angles from -20 to +20 degrees. Adding cleats provides for -30 to +30 degrees.

Diamond stamped
gangway no-slip tread

Our diamond stamped tread provides a more subtle walk surface that still provides protection against slips. More suited for commercial or residential applications, this walk surface is suitable for operating angles from -20 to +20 degrees. Adding cleats provides for -30 to +30 degrees.
